Not speculation, I know. I'm a fiend.
Do you think the story and pacing would have benefited from the events of season 3 being split into two seasons? Taking into account how this season has been going on almost as long as the other two seasons combined, has a run time close to or longer than the other two seasons combined and has so many plot points to address , some of which will probably be skimmed over or skipped, it seems to me that it would have been better to divide it in two. We probably don't have many entries left, which makes me curious how they're going to satisfy all the important points.
I think Entry #72 would have been a good stopping point for season 3, although ideally it would have had a few more entries before it, detailing a few more mysteries around college town. More build-up and info about Amy and Jay's involvement, as well as more details about what happened to the cast.
Then Season 4 should have really started with some entries where Jay was out-of-it and Tim had to run things. This was such a missed opportunity. And considering the fact that it's already running over the usual 26 entries in a season, there's no way they'd have trouble giving Season 4 a decent length. I'm still wondering how they're going to make it so that any returns to old locations won't feel crammed in last-minute. Oh and entries like #81 would probably be more welcome if it didn't feel like the next few entries could be the last all the time.
Well anyway, tell me what you think. Is it fine as it is? Am I being ridiculous to judge the pacing and story of a season that hasn't even been finished yet? This is just an idea I've been thinking about for a while and I wanted to share it.
